Welcome to Chingpai Burmese, my name is Hermione I live with my two daughters and of course Burmese cats, in Salisbury, Wiltshire. I work part time as a Midwifery Assistant otherwise I am a full time mummy.
I was brought up with Siamese (old style) being bred around me, then as pets. At the age of 9 in 1990 I was bought my very own burmese kitten, a chocolate girl i called Zoe, (that was 17 years ago now,) about 10 months after we got Zoe a Chocolate boy joined her, Figaro.
I left Zoe and Figgy living with my parents when I left home, Zoe lived til she was 13 when she was put to sleep to end her suffering from Diabetes. Figaro developed kindney failure and was out to sleep in my arms in December 2005. Both cats were very special to me.
Soon after buying my first home I started looking for some Burmese Babies I found a Blue Boy, Nimbus not far from where we were living through a friend and Aurora our Cream Girl a little further away in Dawlish Devon.
They both arrived on the same day 15th April 2001 and were the best of friends straight away. That was 6 years ago now.
Sadly and very tragically we lost Aurora to hit and run out side our new home in November 2005. It was a horrible time and for that reason all my cats our now indoor cats and very happy being so. With out to much discusion it was decided for both ourselves and Nimbus we would look for a new kitten, which had to be Burmese.
To cut a long story short after many phone calls and hours chatting with old and new contacts, I found two Lilac girls in Ilfracombe Devon. These girls came to live with us on Christmas Eve 2005. They are to be my foundation breeding queens Kinky and Pixie.
The Preifx CHINGPAI was orginally registered in the 1970's by my mother when breeding Siamese, I have joined her on the registeration to continue the name for many more years.
Chingpai is a Cream Blue glaze used in Chinese pottery.
Aurora was the first cat I ever showed, she did rather well. Shortly after I started showing I fell pregnant with our first daughter Trinity. I decided not to breed from Aurora at this time so had her neutered (to this day I wish we had not.)
Just days after we lost her on the 11th nov 2005, her sister was made upto UK Grand Champion at the Supreme Show 2005, well done Millie (Charmeuse Millennium Cream). Losing Aurora refocused me on my cats, it made me want to start breeding and showing again.
Nimbus was a very lost boy without her. After one week of hissing spitting and grawlling at the new girls he calmed down and snuggled up with them. Now they all get on very well!
